The WoW Forever beta is officially underway, and Blizzard has introduced far more than new content. From a dedicated reagent bag and a modern Auction House to expanded bank space, smoother resource regeneration, redesigned PvP progression, and built-in quality-of-life tools, WoW Forever is reshaping the Classic experience while keeping its core philosophy intact. WoW Forever Adds Major UI and Inventory Improvements

One of the biggest changes is how much of the modern WoW interface has been brought into Forever. Players now have a combined bag option, automatic bag assignment, and a dedicated reagent bag slot for profession materials. The quest log has also been expanded from 20 to 40 quests, making long leveling routes much easier to manage.

Character information is also significantly clearer. The new stat interface explains defense, hit, critical strike, weapon skill, glancing blows, and other important mechanics instead of forcing players to rely on external resources.

An equipment manager is included as well, allowing players to save and quickly swap between different gear sets.

Retail Auction House and Massive Bank Space Arrive

The Classic Auction House is gone in favor of a much more convenient system. Instead of repeatedly purchasing individual stacks, players can enter the amount they want and buy available items in a single transaction.

Bank storage has also received a huge upgrade, starting at 48 slots instead of the extremely limited Vanilla capacity. With new professions, weapons, armor, trinkets, and other items expected in Forever, the extra storage should become extremely valuable.

A Guild Bank will also be available from launch.

New Lighting, Water Effects and Character Features

WoW Forever isn't just changing systems. Blizzard has upgraded the game's presentation with new loading screens, improved lighting, dynamic day-and-night effects, and enhanced water visuals. Some areas now look dramatically different depending on the time of day.

The game also introduces first and last character names, gamepad support, retail-style ping functionality, and improved NPC interactions where characters can turn their heads toward each other.

PvP Gets a Completely Different Progression System

The old Vanilla rank grind has been replaced with a more seasonal approach. Players earn Honor through PvP, increase their rank, and unlock rewards along the way.

There is no weekly ranking calculation, Honor decay, or competition to dominate your server's leaderboard. Blizzard is also reviewing Battleground rewards and plans to make different Battlegrounds more worthwhile instead of allowing one dominant strategy to control the PvP meta.

There will be no rated PvP or Arena at launch, although Forever will include a new Battleground.

Resource Regeneration and Addons Are Changing

The traditional server tick system has been replaced with modern resource regeneration. Rogues and Druids, for example, will regenerate Energy smoothly rather than receiving large chunks every server tick.

WoW Forever will also use the modern addon API, while Blizzard intends to limit addons that automate too much gameplay. Built-in tools such as a DPS meter, swing timer, cooldown manager, and diminishing returns tracker should reduce the need for third-party addons.

Classic Rules Still Matter

Despite these modern improvements, Blizzard is keeping several Classic principles. GDKP remains banned, gold buyers face much harsher penalties, there is no Dungeon Journal, and raid and dungeon content will have only one difficulty.

Raid loot will also remain hidden until it is discovered on a realm, meaning players may enter early raids without knowing exactly what every boss drops. There will be 10- and 20-player raid options, while 40-player raids will only appear where Blizzard specifically chooses to include them.
